Parish

Acolytes
also known Altar Servers, assist the Priest at Celebrations of The Holy Eucharist, and other services. An Acolyte may also serve as Crucifer, carry the Book of Gospels, Banners, Torches, or act as Thurifer or Incense Boat Bearer at services.  At Christ Church, adults and young people of both genders serve as Acolytes.

Members of the Altar Guild prepare the church for all services, care for the church altar linens, sacred vessels, vestments, and other liturgical appointments, and decorate the church for festivals, holy days, and special celebrations.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers offer the Prayers of the People and act as Chalice Bearer at Celebrations of The Holy Eucharist and assist the Priest at other services.  From time to time, they may take Holy Communion from the Reserved Sacrament to parisioners prevented by sickness or disability from attending services.  At Christ Church, women and men serve as LEMs.

Lectors read the Old & New Testament lessons assigned for the day or occasion.

The Organist/Choir Director & Choir offer praise to God through seasonal service music, hymns, chanted psalms & prayers, and offertory anthems.

Gift Bearers bring up the Bread and Wine at the Offertory during Celebrations of The Holy Eucharist.

Ushers greet people as they arrive at church, hand out Service Bulletins, count heads, collect the Offering, assist people to the Communion Rail, and after services, collects discarded bulletins and returns prayer books & hymnals to the pew racks.

The FunRaisers organize fund-raising events, such as the Lasagna Dinner, Radio Days, Victorian High Tea, and Holiday Hospitality Bazaar, and make our always popular EpiscoPickles
